Christopher Sinclair is the company founder, President, and CEO for The Anthem Group, a closely held collection of companies and special projects. The Anthem Group is the parent organization of all Anthem-related entities. Anthem Marketing and Production, Anthem Strategy, Anthem Innovation, Anthem International Music Festival and The New England Dessert Showcase are among the marquee companies included in The Anthem Group.
Since founding Anthem while still a teenager, using his entire personal savings of just $500, Chris has developed the company into a nationally and internationally recognized entity. What began as Anthem Entertainment, a specialized events firm, soon grew to encompass business-to-business as well as public-facing programs. Today, The Anthem Group has grown exponentially from its humble beginnings as a boutique Boston-based events agency to a multi-industry enterprise. This breadth of unique experience has propelled Anthem into activity in over 70 markets across five continents.
Chris has studied at La Salle University, Harvard University, obtained his Master of Sport Administration at Ohio University, graduated the prestigious Emerging Leaders Program at the University of Massachusetts, completed the FBI Citizens Academy and earned his MBA at The University of Notre Dame.
Despite the extraordinary academic accomplishments, Chris attributes the success of Anthem to three important skills that can never be learned: ingenuity, determination, and leadership. With his unique leadership style, Chris encourages and nurtures the professional growth of his personnel while simultaneously demanding the highest level of performance from them.
Chris is commonly and widely referred to as one of the most brilliant, educated and earnest leaders in any industry Anthem is present in. Both Chris’ and Anthem’s track records can be attributed to a relentless effort to have ever-expanding skill sets, which further differentiates Anthem from its competition. The client results and the success of Anthem’s internally initiated projects are undeniable.
Outside of Anthem, Chris serves on the Board of Advisors, Board of Directors or is a past board member for numerous organizations. He presently sits on four boards: the Center for Collaborative Leadership, Easter Seals, FBI Citizens Academy, and Project D.E.E.P. In pursuit of Chris’ drive to help others he also embarks on an annual speaking and guest lecture tour at colleges and conferences throughout the country. He speaks primarily about entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility and various strategy, business and philanthropic topics. Further, Chris participates in advisory programs, such as the Suffolk University Job Shadow Program, and individually mentors students and young entrepreneurs directly.
In addition to his responsibilities as the President of The Anthem Group and its primary ventures, Chris has executed a wide spectrum of socially driven consulting projects. In Cape Town, South Africa, he helped overhaul a state-funded entrepreneurship program that provided training to disadvantaged individuals and township residents. During his time in South Africa, Chris also conducted research to be submitted to the South African Parliament on housing concerns in the Western Cape. Moreover, as a Notre Dame alumnus, Chris has focused on empowering underprivileged youth in South Bend, Indiana. He designed an entrepreneurship curriculum that focuses on providing opportunities for impoverished local high school students. Among Chris’ proudest accomplishments have been his efforts to impart skills, tools, and the entrepreneurial spirit to disadvantaged individuals, and encouraging all people to reach their fullest potential – regardless of their goal.
Among Chris’ many awards and accolades, one of the most prominent was being named the recipient of the FBI Director’s Leadership Award in 2013. The FBI created the award in 1990 as a way to honor individuals and organizations for their efforts in combating crime, terrorism, and drugs and engaging the community in the areas of education and prevention.
Another perfect illustration of Chris and Anthem’s diversity and vision is the revitalization of the Charles River Bistro that sits in Boston’s world renowned Esplanade Park. With Chris at the helm, Anthem Hospitality assumed control of the restaurant in 2013. Soon after taking ownership, Anthem executed extensive facility renovations, which were personally designed by Chris. In addition, the company implemented an entire menu overhaul, introduced community outreach initiatives and launched unprecedented entertainment-dinning programming.
In his personal life, Chris is a loyal Notre Dame alumnus and attributes much of his success and growth to his University. Chris never misses Fighting Irish football on Saturdays in the fall and remains active in the alumni network. In his spare time, Chris enjoys both traditional sports (baseball, football…) and extreme activities (rappelling, bungee jumping, mountain climbing…). Additional personal passions for the arts, music, and philanthropy have shaped and inspired many of Anthem’s programs and events.
