President’s Biography

Chris Sinclair is the Founder and President of The Anthem Group—the parent organization of all Anthem related properties. Among the marquee companies are, Anthem Marketing and Production, Anthem Strategy, Anthem Innovation and The Anthem International Music Festival.

Since founding Anthem with his entire personal savings of $500 while still a teenager, Chris has become an impressive, accomplished and recognized business leader throughout a host of industries. He has developed the company into a nationally and internationally recognized entity, growing Anthem exponentially from its humble beginnings as a boutique Boston-based events agency to a multi-industry enterprise with activity in over 70 markets across five continents. Chris’ and The Anthem Group’s innovation and success are showcased in numerous local, national and international publications and media outlets.

Chris has obtained an array of academic degrees and certificates. He has studied at La Salle University, Ohio University, Harvard University and The University of Notre Dame. Chris is also a proud graduate of University of Massachusetts’s Emerging Leaders Program and the FBI Citizens Academy. Despite his numerous achievements, Chris attributes Anthem’s success to three critical skills that can never be learned: ingenuity, determination and leadership.

Chris’ entrepreneurial endeavors give him the platform to feed his passion for philanthropy. As a current board member for the FBI Citizen’s Academy, Somali Community and Cultural Association in Boston, Cradles to Crayons CEO Breakfast Committee and Goodwill’s Young Professional Board, Chris applies his understanding of leadership styles and how they can integrate to help positively impact many communities. Chris is also Chair of Action for Boston Community Development’s (ABCD) Hoop Dreams, a fundraiser co-hosted by LA Clippers’ coach Doc Rivers and Boston Celtic’s coach, Brad Stevens, and serves on the Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business Board as well as the Center for Collaborative Leadership Board. He utilizes his leadership training to engage individuals and communities, with an emphasis on furthering educational, athletic and social growth and development among pre-teens, teenagers and adults living in inner city neighborhoods located in Boston and beyond.

Chris takes pride in mentoring and teaching entrepreneurial skills to students, young entrepreneurs and other businesses. He has participated in Suffolk University’s Job Shadow Program, mentored dozens of student entrepreneurs at Notre Dame’s Gigot Center for Entrepreneurship, and has most recently created two new subsidiaries of Anthem—Anthem Innovation and Anthem Incubator—providing development  resources and incubator assistance to both launch new scalable ventures and to also help smaller companies thrive. Chris is also a popular guest lecturer and speaker at various colleges, conferences and professional panels, primarily focusing on business strategy, corporate social responsibility and philanthropy.

Among Chris’ proudest accomplishments have been his efforts to impart skills, tools and the entrepreneurial spirit to disadvantaged individuals—encouraging all to reach their fullest potential regardless of their goal.

Chris helped overhaul a state-funded entrepreneurship program in Cape Town, South Africa that provided training to underserved township residents and he conducted research on Western Cape housing concerns to be submitted to the South African Parliament. Chris also worked to empower underprivileged youth in South Bend, Indiana through the development of an entrepreneurship focused curriculum that provided local high school students with professional opportunities.

Chris continues to focus on creating large-scale properties that directly dial into communities, making it a priority to utilize Anthem’s resources and influence to support great causes whenever possible. He has created three jobs programs which are executed at The Charles River Bistro, Anthem’s flagship restaurant located on the Esplanade in Boston, MA. Through the inner-city youth jobs program, substance abuse recovery program, and the workforce re-entry program, Anthem provides employment and job training to at-risk youth, individuals in recovery, and adults transitioning from homelessness back into the workforce. Chris and his team also work closely with multiple CBOs to coordinate youth outings that offer the educational opportunity to over 5,000 at-risk pre-teen and teenagers to leave their immediate neighborhoods—exposing them to new experiences, people and places.

Chris has received many prestigious awards and accolades for his leadership and community engagement efforts. Most recently, Chris was the recipient of the Center for Collaborative Leadership, 2016 Leading the Way Award. He also received the FBI Director’s Leadership Award for his efforts in combating violence, crime, terrorism and drug use through prevention education within the Greater Boston community and was named Local Hero by Future Boston Alliance.

As a loyal Notre Dame alumnus, Chris attributes much of his success and growth to his University. He never misses Fighting Irish football games and supports his local Notre Dame alumni club. In his spare time, Chris enjoys both traditional sports and extreme activities such as rappelling, bungee jumping and mountain climbing. He is also passionate about the arts, music, animal welfare and giving back—inspiring many of Anthem’s programs and events.
